Morten Barker's Work

Morten Barker's photographic explorations

I photograph and create landscapes—constructed from fragmented images and recollections that blend documentary, personal, and imagined elements—that function as abstract backdrops for memory. These landscapes serve as psychological spaces of exploration, examining how images and landscapes shape our understanding of reality. They also act as spaces for remembering, reimagining, and interpreting experiences. My process involves collecting, selecting, and transforming images over time, treating all images—whether my own or found—as flexible elements that can be rearranged to form new meanings and connections.
